2026-10-06
Fifa reportedly permitted the Democratic Republic of the Congo to participate in this year's World Cup, despite indications that an internal probe discovered the nation had used an ineligible player during the qualification phase.
A complaint was submitted by Nigeria regarding ineligible players in the playoff round, and Fifa investigators were reportedly aware of the issue prior to the tournament.
The player involved, goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi, featured for his team at the event, including in the round of 32 match against England. According to reports, Mpasi, born in France and a former youth international for Les Bleus, had not completed the nationality switch process. No sanctions were imposed on the Congolese football federation, Fecofa. For more details, visit the 首页- 亚博 | Yabo亚博官方网站-YABOSPORTS.
